It’s fixed to the back molars on both the upper and lower jaws with bonded bands, so it stays in place throughout treatment. Patients using the Herbst Appliance do not have any problems learning to chew their food with their lower jaw in this new position.

MARA Appliance

The MARA appliance helps correct overbites by guiding the lower jaw forward into a better position. It’s securely attached to the teeth and works by moving the lower teeth slightly forward while holding the upper teeth back.
